Parents & Teachers

The Uncoverers™ is more than a mystery series.

Each book teaches children how to think carefully, evaluate claims, spot mistakes in reasoning, and follow evidence wherever it leads.

Rather than teaching logical fallacies through lectures or worksheets, The Uncoverers™ teaches them through engaging mysteries that children solve alongside the DISCERN team.

The seven members of the DISCERN team each represent a different thinking skill. Together, they help readers ask better questions, examine evidence, clarify confusing ideas, test possibilities, recognize patterns, understand people, and identify contradictions.

The name DISCERN is more than a team name. It reflects what the characters do in every mystery: they learn to discern truth from assumptions, facts from opinions, and strong reasoning from weak reasoning.

Every book focuses on one central mystery and introduces three logical fallacies through the story itself, helping readers recognize common thinking mistakes in a natural and memorable way.

Book 1: The Missing Scorpion introduces the following fallacies:

Ad Hominem - Attacking one's character instead of addressing the argument.
Hasty Generalization - Drawing a conclusion from too little evidence.
Bandwagon - Believing something is true, because many people believe it.

Future books will continue teaching three additional fallacies in each mystery while strengthening observation, reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Children won’t just learn what happened in the mystery.

They’ll learn how to think their way to the answer.
